About me

Hi, I’m YC, a trained social researcher with a PhD in care work and labor migration. Born and raised in Switzerland to Hokkien-Cantonese parents who grew up in Vietnam, I’ve always been shaped by the intersection of cultures.

In 2018, life brought me to Singapore, where I met my husband, Jeff, a Canadian-born son of Hong Kong immigrants, ice-hockey player, dim-sum lover and the best chiropractor on earth.

Now, as full-time working parents, we are navigating the joys and chaos of raising two little ones (4 and almost 2) in our multilingual home, where English, German, Cantonese are part of everyday life.

Attachment and gentle parenting deeply resonate with me—they’re the foundation of how I approach raising my kids. But let’s be honest, even the best intentions can be tested when you’re negotiating with a toddler over why pants are not optional. I’m excited to share stories, insights, and tips from our journey here.
